My husband Neil David Vandenbergh ( ndvandenbergh@gmail.com ) graces us with being a guest in a very candid, passionate, biblically based interview.
Get your pen and paper ready to take notes!
Here are the scriptures we reference -
• Lamenations 3:40-42 • Let us examine our ways and test them,
and let us return to the Lord.
41 Let us lift up our hearts and our hands
to God in heaven, and say:
42 “We have sinned and rebelled
and you have not forgiven
• James 5:16 • Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much
If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. 1John 5: 16 I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.
• 1 Corinthians 11:1 • Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
• John 15:10-14 • If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
Personal Inventory exercise:
1st Column - I'm resentful at: _____________
2nd Column - Why? What was done to me?
3rd Column - Affects my: Self-esteem, Pride, ambition, personal relationships, finances etc
4th Column - What was my part in this situation? Not necessarily a cause, but learning to see clearly and take responsibility for my PART in the situation, IE at least my reaction to it
